FC Dallas begins the day near the top of the MLS standings.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The weekend proved to be a hot one around these parts as FC Dallas earned another victory. Time to move forward as the club preps for their Brimstone match with Chicago this weekend. First up are some morning links.

Rising above the challenge |

Even when the club is facing obstacles they continue to work hard according to Je-Vaughn Watson.

Akindele close to getting US citizenship |

The rookie isn't worried about which country he'll play for right now. Honestly, I think more folks will end up being upset by this news than anything else. I'll say this, Tesho is the type of guy that isn't focused too much on earning international callups at the moment, he'll tell you that in an honest answer. I still think down the road he'll suit up for Canada.

You make the call on Perez |

Interesting seeing the comments on this one, normally I ignore the comments section on MLS but this one was almost worth reading into a bit. Just a is still the comments section.

Riverhounds beat up on FCD Reserves |

A 3-1 loss yesterday afternoon for the Reserve squad. I may get more into this result later but the lone goal was from Cobi Span.

Who will win the MLS Rookie of the Year? |

Twellman and Lalas have it out on Harry Shipp and Tesho Akindele.

Week 24 thoughts |

Speed kills and more...plenty of FCD thoughts in this one once you get by the Seattle-Portland stuff.

MLS signs Jones, he lands with New England |

A blind freakin draw determined this one. Yes, you read that correct. MLS continues to just be MLS.

Can Jones make the Revs a winner? |

To be perfectly fair, he should. But it won't happen this season. That team has been knocked around too much this summer and given how he hasn't done anything but party with Charlie Sheen in the last two months, I don't think he's fitness will be there for the long haul.

Chicago sends Hurtado to Chivas | Hot Time In Old Town

Well this was suppose to clear up some space and add in a little allocation to land Jones but that didn't work out for Chicago now did it?

Sounders deliver a statement win over rivals |

A big 4-2 beating by Seattle, at one point they were up 3-0 in this one and looking really good. Portland on the other hand just looked gassed form all their travel in the last two weeks.

The BWP Effect | Once a Metro

This was written before he scored his 19th and 20th goals. I think the question has to be asked, can he reach the Wondo/Lassiter 27?
