FC Dallas Injury Update: Mauro Diaz likely out for another three weeks

The outlook for this weekend isn't as rosy as it once was.

FC Dallas will head west to California today but the injury report for the club is not a positive one following Tuesday's loss in the US Open Cup. The official report was released yesterday with only the usual suspects that are out but there is much more to it than that.

Out: Chris Seitz (quad), George John (knee), Hendry Thomas (ACL)

Again, much more than just those three.

Yesterday it was revealed on Twitter and Instagram of all places that midfielder Mauro Diaz would be having an MRI, the young player then sent out a photo with a caption that read "out of the field for another 3 weeks." It appears that the photo has been removed since then but here is a picture of the image.

Definitely a tough break for the young DP and the club to see him go down yet again. Diaz was subbed out at halftime of the semifinal round match against the Philadelphia Union on Tuesday. Now it looks like we'll be waiting for Labor Day to see him back on the field.

Midfielder Adam Moffat also is going to have a MRI done as well. No word yet on his status but I would likely figure him to be out for this weekend as well just as a precaution.

I also got word yesterday that Walker Zimmerman would likely not be traveling to San Jose with the club. The young defender just can't seem to catch a break here.

This also goes along with the bad news that we discussed last week about Moises Hernandez being out for a couple games with a foot injury following a freak accident at home.

With all of those names to report at least the club could have Kellyn Acosta and Jair Benitez back. Both appeared on the bench on Tuesday after being out for several games. Both should definitely make the trip to San Jose but it will be a question to see if they get any minutes.

I hate to be the one to deliver bad news but sometimes these injury reports are just that. Bad news.
