Rankings Recap: FC Dallas moves up during bye week

The Hoops moved up a few spots without even playing a game.

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas didn't play a game this week. But, they distanced themselves from others on the table. San Jose, Colorado, Portland, and Vancouver all dropped points last week. This is great news for FCD, who improve their spot on the table without even playing a single game. Now FCD looks to take advantage of a New England Revolution side that comes to town on a five game losing streak.

Are these rankings right about FCD? Where do you think the Hoops belong? Which team surprised you?

Rank: 10 (Last week: 12)

Comment: Seem to have rode out most of the injuries, and are just about done with the suspensions. This team is poised to make a big summertime run.

ESPN FC

Rank: 12 (Last week: 13)

Comment: The return of Mauro Diaz this past week lifted Dallas, who still holds on to a playoff spot in the difficult West. Oscar Pareja's team was idle this weekend ahead of a home date with the struggling Revolution next Saturday.

The Oregonian

Rank: 6 (Last week: 6)

Comment: Four-game unbeaten streak has stopped the hemorrhaging - for now - of a nasty stretch in which they had lost six of eight games.

Soccer America

Rank: 9 (Last week: 9)

Comment: FCD gets back to MLS action Saturday against New England. It beat Carolina, 5-2, in the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday and has taken eight points from its last four games to edge back into the playoff tier.
