Chris Seitz - 4
Easily worst game this year for Chris Seitz. While his defense didn't do him any favors on either goal he was very very lucky not to give up a goal early in this game. If not for the hard work of Matt Hedges, who got a SotW nod, this would have been blown open early due to terrible decision making from Seitz.
Moises Hernandez - 6
A nice showing from the LB for the half that he played. The big homegrown even had a quality shot on goal in this one. I think it's time that Hernandez became the starting LB on this squad while Jair comes off the bench in a super sub role. His speed is lacking from what Benitez brings but his size and skill more than makes up for it.
Matt Hedges - 7
What an effort from Matt Hedges in this game. The young man showed why Pareja pegged him as the captain of his squad. Hedges did everything from clearing shots off the line to pushing up into the attack when Dallas was down both a man and a goal. Man of the match for me.
Walker Zimmerman - 6
Better than some performances from him, not as good as others. I worry about his speed when having to track back in defense. He pushed forward more than I would have liked to have seen in the second half but being down a man forced FCD's hand to be fair. His passing and tracking must improve but I thought his awareness was better this game than we've seen in the past. He didn't have any glaring mistakes this match so we'll take that improvement and go forward from here.
Zach Loyd - 7
Like Matt Hedges, Loyd worked his ass off in this game. Since the loss of Acosta we have seen him become the Zach Loyd of old. He was fearless in defense and not afraid to push up and try to make something happen in the attacking end of the pitch. A great job from Loyd in this one.
Victor Ulloa - 6
You have to feel bad for the kid that his teammates can't seem to stay on the pitch and help him out. An admirable job for the 20 minutes he played by himself in the middle of the pitch. It has to be so frustrating for him that he can't get a stable partner. Expect that to change of course when Hendry Thomas comes back.
Adam Moffat - 2
The most frustrating thing is that he was doing a nice job before he completely forgot that he was already on a yellow card, no matter how weak that card was, and decided to go through the back of Djalo's legs. It's time for Moffat to put up or shut up, so to speak. His performances just seem to be strings of disappointment mixed with a good tackle here and there. I really question whether Moffat even wants to be in Dallas at all.
Je Vaughn Watson - 3
Watson disappeared for large chunks of this game and in the end barely contributed on the field. I'm not sure what the issue with him is lately but he seems off his game big time. Not sure if there's a lingering issue or if he is just lacking motivation but this team needs him to step up right now big time.
Fabian Castillo - 4
That PK attempt...ugh... We all know he's fast but that seems to be about the extent of Castillo's skill set. By reactions I've seen on social media it appears that the fan base is finally getting fed up with waiting for his talent to develop like we continue to be told it will. Unfortunately his speed isn't enough to make him a quality player. Yes he had an assist but that was all Blas IMO.
Tesho Akindele - 7
A real bright spot is developing on this offense and its name is Tesho Akindele. Yes he's still very raw and rough around the edges but you can see the development in his game improving with every minute that he's on the field. I predict he'll have 5-6 goals to his name by the time this season ends.
Blas Perez - 6
What a quality finish on the goal from Perez. Absolutely vintage Blas. I personally was shocked to see him come off at half time after breaking his scoring slump. The goal seemed to invigorate Blas and awaken his hunger that has clearly been missing from his game. At least lets hope that's the case.
Oscar Pereja - 4
I don't care who's injured on this squad, an eight game winless streak is unacceptable. I was baffled by the Luccin for Perez sub at half. I know some of you say it was to cement the midfield but down a man and a goal with only 45 to go? I just don't get it.
Off The Bench
Jair Benitez - 6
Jair is finding a nice role for this team right now as a super sub off the bench in the midfield. He added quality of service into the attack and on set pieces. I'm kind of hoping this is role from here on out.
Peter Luccin - 5
For me a very odd sub at half time. Luccin didn't do terrible by any means but some of his kicks left something to be desired.
Ryan Hollingshead - 5
A good 18 minute debut from FCD's 2nd round pick of 2013. His height is a definite advantage and his speed is good. I'm interested to see more of the young man before I can really make a judgement on him
