MLS Fantasy Manager: Week 16

Unlimited transfers for the second week in a row.

Jaime Valdez-USA TODAY Sports

Well, that was a short break. Lineups lock up at 9:00pm CT tonight! Unlimited transfers again! Let's dive in.

FC Dallas

FC Dallas travels to Columbus to take on the Crew this weekend. Coming off a fresh 3-2 win against Houston in the U.S. Open Cup, the boys will be feeling good about themselves.

Who to start/add

Fabian Castillo $7.0 - If Castillo isn't suspended, he needs to be starting this week. He has scored a goal in each of his last four games. He is the hottest player on FCD at the moment.

Andres Escobar $6.0 - Castillo's fellow Colombian buddy Escobar, is also very hot at the moment. The player is finally not injured and playing worth the money we are paying to have him here.

Tesho Akindele $4.4 - The rookie has been impressive thus far. With Blas Perez suspended, Akindele will need to step up. I think we will.

Who not to start/add

Adam Moffat $5.5 - Moffat is having an up and down season and fighting for a starting spot with Andrew Jacobson and Victor Ulloa isn't helping fantasy managers in selecting him.

Matt Hedges $8.6 - Hedges was named to the starting XI for the game against Houston, but was a late scratch. I don't know why and won't speculate. But, I wouldn't take the risk if for some reason he can't go against Columbus.

MLS

So, unlimited transfers...again!

Who to start/add

Pedro Morales $8.8 - Vancouver has two games this week and Morales is a great option. Pedro has three goals and three assists in his last three games. Oh, and the Whitecap's first game is tonight against the lowly defense of Montreal.

Jermain Defoe $10.8 - This guy is worth spending a little extra on. Defoe has seven goals in eight games. Can anyone stop him? Doesn't look like it so far.

Andy O'Brien $7.4 - It's always safe to go with defenders on double-game weeks, because you know they will most likely go the full 90 minutes in both games.

Who not to start/add

Will Bruin $7.8 - Houston struggles without Brad Davis at the helm. During the loss to FCD, Bruin was subbed off early due to injury. It didn't look serious, but for both those reasons, I wouldn't risk it.

Seth Sinovic $8.0 - The Sporting Kansas City defense is struggling with injuries and absentees. SKC is coming off a loss to Portland in the U.S. Open Cup and that is their opponent this weekend. Sinovic is just not worth the price tag on a SKC defense that just isn't the same without their starters.

Michael Parkhurst $7.5 - After Columbus started off the season on fire, they have struggled recently. This doesn't bode well for their defense when the dynamic Colombian duo of FCD comes to town this weekend.
