If you're looking for another piece of the Dallas-Houston rivalry to see, look no further than to this weekend's women's friendly between the FC Dallas U-23 women's side and the WPSL's Houston Dash.
The two sides will be meeting for the first time on Saturday night at Bishop Lynch High school at 7pm.
For those who do not know, the Dash are run by the Houston Dynamo, a team FC Dallas will be battling again next week in the 2014 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup fifth round. FCD took the MLS regular season title from the Dynamo this season to the tune of a 4-1 beating back in April.
FC Dallas' U-23 ECNL women's team has only played a few sanctioned games this season so facing the Dash this weekend will be a challenge. Saturday's match is the first opportunity for soccer fans to see a women's professional team in Dallas.
Interestingly enough it will be a bit of a family affair between the two coaches as well. Houston Dash coach Randy Waldrum and FC Dallas coach Ben Waldrum typically are in the same bench as one another but not this weekend.
The match kicks off at 7:30PM on Saturday night at Roffino Stadium, just east of White Rock Lake. Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased here using code "ECNL"
