Rankings Recap: FC Dallas Keep Falling

New, comments

FC Dallas continues to fall down the rankings despite getting a point at home.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Well the past five or so weeks haven't been so great for FC Dallas. After four straight losses, FCD finally got a point last week. But, they continue to tumble down the power rankings. It doesn't look like it will get any better this week.

Are these rankings right about FCD? Where do you think the Hoops belong? Which team surprised you?

Rank: 10 (Last week: 8)

Comment: Something something 2013 repeat.

Rank: 13 (Last week: 10)

Comment: Well, at least the four-game losing streak is over, but a 1-1 home draw with Chivas isn't much to cheer about. If FCD can get anything out of a two-game road swing through L.A. and Real Salt Lake, it will be a bonus.

Rank: 6 (Last week: 8)

Comment: Dallas is winless in five, and it could have been five straight losses if it weren't for a late equalizer on a corner kick from Fabian Castillo. Dallas has traditionally played RSL tough, but the two teams could hardly be trending in more opposing directions leading into their game next week.

Rank: 14 (Last week: 10)

Comment: FCD's losing streak is over, but the disappointing results continue. Falling behind and then drawing against Chivas USA only justifies worries this team is lost without Mauro Diaz. Given results with the young Argentine also offered a series of caveats, it's unclear how good this team is ... or can be.

Rank: 10 (Last week: 8)

Comment: Not having the guns to beat a Chivas USA team without new acquisition Marvin Chavez at home shows Oscar Pareja has work to do, even without Diaz, Thomas, John and Acosta available. It seems the club is still reeling from the injury losses, and are heading into another tough two game road trip(at LA Wednesday, at RSL Saturday). The schedule and injury has forced Pareja to rotate the roster a little more than maybe he would like, but then again, it being his first season and the fact that he didn’t have much input on this roster, maybe this is the opportunity he needs to see what he has in certain players.
