Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas is back in action tonight as they host Western Conference rivals Chivas USA.

FC Dallas Notes:

Negative pace. As of May 16, FC Dallas players have missed 44 games due to injury according to the club's game notes. Another five games have been lost due to suspensions. Five players have been ejected from matches this season. The club record for red cards in a season is seven, which occurred during the 2008 season.

Youth being served. Seven of FC Dallas' 21 starters this season are 22‐years‐old or younger, nine are 23 or younger and 10 are 24 or younger. FCD is also third in the league in total minutes played by Homegrown players this season.

Quick stats from the San Jose game - Here are the Opta stats from last week's game:

ALL-TIME (26 meetings): FC Dallas 12 wins, 36 goals ... Chivas USA 6 wins, 29 goals ... Ties 8
AT DALLAS (14 meetings): FC Dallas 6 wins, 16 goals ... Chivas USA 2 wins, 11 goals ... Ties 6

Coaches record: Oscar Pareja vs. CHV: P7 W5 L0 T2 ... Wilmer Cabrera vs. DAL: P1 W0 L1 T0

This one has the makings of being either a big statement game for FCD or another struggle for them. It is tough to tell really what kind of mentality they will approach this game with. Ending the four game losing skid has to be it as they are one loss away from a club record. Pareja just needs his club to get back to basics here and I think it all starts with the defense. I'd be more willing to take a 0-0 draw and earn the first shutout of the season than play like crap and get three points. I may be in the minority there but that is just how I feel about things at the moment. Anyways, I think FCD does get back on the right track here but it won't be pretty.

FC Dallas 2, Chivas USA 1
