Your thoughts on tonight's win?
A very important result and the effort especially in the second half for the team was outstanding. I liked the fact that we saw a team that was more mature tonight who is matching up with other teams like Houston who have a lot of experience in big events and we came out to their place and did very well so I liked a lot of things and theyr'e showing that they're going in a good direction but this is just the start and we're thinking about Seattle now.
Thoughts on Je-Vaughn's performance...
A very special night for Je-Vaughn the way he's working for his teammates and the work ethich that he's showing us is great and when that happens the game will reward you and today was a good example. I liked it and I'm very happy for him and the team.
With the news that his red card was rescinded earlier in the week, did you think it might be his game?
This is an honest team and we have an honest group. Very committed and hard working and we don't brag about anything else but hard work and Je-vaughn is one of those guys who does it all the time and he didn't deserve the red card and for us it was important that he was part of the game. He proved how important he's becoming for this team.
What does it mean to win this for the fans who traveled here from Dallas?
It always means a lot to see the fans in the stands especially when we play away. I'ld like them to enjoy this victory, they deserve it. This is their team and these boys will die for them. I hope we can have a full stadium against Seattle to show that this team is for real.
What does it say about your team after you scored you went on and scored real quickly after that?
We're maturing. We're adding very good stuff to our project and going away in a game that's tied and they came with a lot of passion and character to get more goals. It shows what they want and I'm glad to see that.
What makes Je-vaughn and Castillo so effective on the wings?
Their willingness to work first, their talent, their work ethic and I have to say that my staff are working very hard with them during the week. Marco, Josema, Drew and Karim are doing a phenomenal job with these forwards and I prize them. It's their job, it's great.
Your thoughts on Texeira's performance?
It was good. David needed a game like this one to put his feet into the ground and see how MLS is like not just in training but in the game. I'm very pleased with his effort and he helped us a lot holding the ball in the first half. His movement was helping us and it was great to see David as a part of this win too.
What were your thoughts on the red card?
It was from behind. I was afraid for an injury to Fabian and thank God nothing happened.
Thoughts on Seitz's PK save...
Chris is another good demonstration of hard work and patience and now he's responding and helping us. I think he's a role model for everyone, the competition in every position will make us all better and I thin kall of them are pushing and that just makes us a better team.
FC Dallas midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson
Two goals and a win, talk about your performance...
It's a wonderful feeling to know I got two goals. Scoring a goal is always good but it's more important to get the three points here because here it's not easy to play [here], even down to 10 men because that's the way Houston plays. They're a good team. I try to do my best every time I get out on the field.
You had your red card rescinded earlier this week. Did you think something special might be possible tonight?
Every game I play Oscar says I can score a goal or two. Just to get the appeal through meant I could play. I want to thank God because that doesn't happen often. I just want to thank them for doing the appeal and [having it] go through because if I hadn't played I wouldn't have scored two goals tonight.
You didn't celebrate them a whole lot but did it mean a lot to score against your old team?
It's a good feeling but Houston is the first team that brought me to MLS. I have a lot of respect for them so I couldn't celebrate but at the end of the day I came here to do work. I went on the field to score a goal but to celebrate the goal would be overdoing it. That's how it goes because we needed to win and really needed the three points.
What did it mean to score the goals that brought home the win for the fans?
It's good. Coming into this game all the players were tense. Yesterday I tried my best not to think about the game and just chilled after dinner to keep my mind clear. These games sometimes are not dependent on how the team plays. Sometimes it's ugly but something special happens. To come up with the three points... Getting the cannon back to Dallas is a wonderful thing. It means three more points to the tally. We have to keep moving forward because were up in the standings and need to continue.
Were you just in the zone there for ten minutes?
I was in the zone from the start of the game but everyone is up to play this game. It's a rivalry and everyone's up. The 10 minutes of the game the ball started flowing to my side and I just kept running because the whole night I wasn't doing a whole lot of running because I was doing more defending than attacking. In the second half coach said we should play on the right side some more so I just kept going and the ball just fell to me in the box. The first free kick from Mauro was a beautiful ball. The second from Michel... They said it's an own goal. That's ok but the other one was just a rolled through ball and I just tried my best to keep my composure and slotted it home.
FC Dallas goalkeeper Chris Seitz
Your overall thoughts on the game?
We came out in the first half and matched them in intensity. That's always key when you're on the road... Getting out there and showing that you're not going to come in soft. Look, we reacted well in the second half, figured out what was going to work, exposed it and we got great goals... It was a complete performance and credit to the guys.
To beat Houston 4-1 in their stadium, is this a statement win for you?
Yeah, of course. It's a road game. We went into Kansas City and got a point and that started the belief. Now we come to Houston in a rivalry game, we came here and matched them and came out on top. For us, that's what it is and now our focus turns to two home games, two good home games and we've got another test ahead of us next weekend.
What does it mean for you guys to get this win for the fans who traveled from Dallas?
It's awesome. The minute I came here I knew the rivalry. It's special and for us to have our fans behind us and keep us going with the late push is awesome. To see them all up there chanting and everything it almost felt like home during warm-ups for me so it was nice.
Can you take us through the PK save?
He's a good PK taker. I watched quite a bit of his stuff on video throughout the week and I got a little bit of help from Blas as well who came up and told me but I already knew which way I was going so he just confirmed it for me. It felt good and is one of those things that helped the guys out and make the statement even sweeter.
