FC Dallas drops a few spots in the power rankings after losing 4-1 to D.C. United.

FC Dallas was in good shape after going up 1-0 on the road. But, after a red card to Zach Loyd and an injury to Mauro Diaz, FCD conceded four goals and lost 4-1 to D.C. United.

Are these rankings right about FCD? Where do you think the Hoops belong? Which team surprised you?

Comment: FC Dallas fans should be concerned about two things: their defense, which doesn't scramble well through any zone of the field; and Mauro Diaz's knee. Neither is insignificant.

Comment: Welcome to Oscar Pareja's nightmare. Zach Loyd's red card turned a 1-0 lead into a 4-1 defeat against D.C. United, and Michel was also sent off late. Topping it all off, attacking linchpin Mauro Diaz left with an injury before halftime. Not good.

Comment: When Mauro Diaz scored early against D.C., it seemed Dallas would cruise to another victory. However, Zach Loyd's second yellow card five minutes before halftime led to the home team turning the tables and scoring four unanswered goals in the 4-1 result.

Comment: When, earlier this year, FC Dallas took advantage of a 10-man Houston to post a 4-1 win at BBVA Compass, we launch them up this chart. Playing 11-on-10 tells us very little about how the team will perform going forward. On Saturday, Dallas was up 1-0 in Washington, D.C., before Zach Loyd got sent off. The team's failures playing 10-on-11 are no more telling than its successes playing a man up. (5-2-1)
