Disciplinary Committe Rescinds Je-Vaughn Watson's Red Card

FCD wins their appeal on Watons' red card against Portland.

Some good news as we head into the Texas Derby game. The red card to Je-Vaughn Watson has been overturned as FC Dallas own their appeal.

An independent review panel has rescinded the fine and one-game suspension for the red cards issued for violent conduct to Portland Timbers defender Michael Harrington and FC Dallas midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson in the 40th minute of the March 29 game (VIDEO). The Timbers and FC Dallas jointly submitted an appeal for review of the play. The appeal was unanimously upheld by the independent review panel.

Watson and Harrington were red carded in the 40th minute of last Saturday's game after the center official stopped play to discuss the matter with his sideline official. The center official told me after the match that the two players struck one another, though there was not evidence on the TV replays to support it.

Both Watson and Harrington are now clear to play this weekend. That is good news for FC Dallas fans as Watson takes on his former club Houston at BBVA Compass Stadium this weekend.
