Clint Dempsey and Seattle Hand FC Dallas their first loss

Dempsey nets two in a 3-2 win over FC Dallas.

The Seattle Sounders FC handed FC Dallas their first loss of the season Saturday night in a 3-2 decision.

Clint Dempsey scored two goals and helped cause a third in route to the win for the Sounders. Dempsey would net his game winner in the 85th minute to help seal the win for the road side.

Dallas would get two first half goals, one early on from David Texeira and a penalty kick from Michel.

Texeira would find himself in the right place at the right time in the 10th minute as he headed home his first MLS goal. Michel sent a ball into the penalty area that caught a deflection off Chad Marshall and over the hands of keeper Stefan Frei.

Seattle would tie it up in the 21st minute however on Dempsey free kick. The US national team captain rifled a free kick by Chris Seitz that hit off the crossbar and went into the goal for his fifth goal of the season.

Dallas would get the lead back right before halftime as Texeira would draw a penalty in the 40th minute. Michel would step up and finish the goal for his third of the season.

FC Dallas came out with plenty of energy in the first half, forcing Seattle into four early corner kicks within the first five minutes. FCD would end the half with a 11-2 advantage in shots.

The Sounders would flip the script early on in the second half. Gonzalo Pineda had a dangerous shot that sailed wide in the 54th minute. Dempsey would also cause some issues for the Dallas back line as he was able to test Seitz a couple of times within the first ten minutes of the second half.

The loss does keep Dallas in first place in the Western Conference however FCD has yet to win four straight games since the 2009 season.
