FCD is moving up the rankings after a 3-1 win over Chivas USA.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

After an impressive win over Chivas USA in week three, FC Dallas finds themselves at the top of the table in MLS. Even at the top of Power Rankings in some cases. FCD will hope to build on their momentum as they face the Portland Timbers at home Saturday.

Are these rankings right about FCD? Where do you think the Hoops belong? Which team surprised you?

Rank: 1 (Last week: 12)

Comment: Mauro Diaz is a wizard. And Fabian Castillo is starting to look like a DP-caliber attacker. Oscar Pareja's homecoming is, thus far, living up to the hype.

Rank: 5 (Last week: 6)

Comment: Mauro Diaz continued to blaze a path toward legend status in Dallas, as his influence on Saturday's 3-1 win over Chivas USA was considerable. His through-ball on Je-Vaughn Watson's goal was sublime. The only downer for FCD? Hendry Thomas' red card.

Rank: 8 (Last week: 9)

Comment: Dallas had plenty of scoring chances against Chivas but struggled to convert until the second half. Fabian Castillo made a good run from deep on a free kick to give his team the lead, and two more goals followed as Dallas turned a close game into a comfortable result. Oscar Pareja's team is already clicking better than last year.

Rank: 8 (Last Week:13)

Comment: Pros – most points in the league; MLS’s best attack; Mauro Díaz and Fabian Castillo; a set-up that is going to give Castillo and Je-Vaughn Watson a chance to embarrass defenders all year. Cons – their schedule; their defense; not knowing whether Watson can maintain Saturday’s level all season.

Comment: For the second time in three games FCD put op a three-spot and Mauro Diaz's influence is clear. He helped create the first two goals for Fabian Castillo and Je-Vaughn Watson and with a driving run won a free kick in the 86th minute that MIchel put in the net via a defelection. Diaz also sent Blas Perez through to lob a shot over the crossbar. In a rough game injuries forced out Adam Moffat and his replacement, Andrew Jacobson.
