MLS Fantasy Manager: Week Three

FC Dallas players look to be in good shape at home against Chivas USA.

Jared Wickerham

The third round of MLS Fantasy Manager is here. By now, some of you might not like the way your team is looking. But, don't panic. Use your transfers wisely!

FC Dallas

FCD faces a surprising Chivas USA side at home this weekend. Both teams are undefeated with one win and one tie. FCD plays very well at home and I wouldn't be surprised if our offense explodes after last week's poor showing.

Who to start/add

Mauro Diaz $7.6 - Look for Diaz to outplay Chivas USA's midfield and really create problems for their backline. The combination of Diaz-Castillo-Perez will be too much. I'd expect a goal or two from this group.

Matt Hedges $8.5 - Man this guy is in some kind of form at the moment. Even with the combo of Erick Torres and Mauro Rosales, I think our backine will manage. At least our center backs will. As for Kellyn Acosta and Jair Benitez, let's all hope they play better than the past two games.

Who not start/add

Jair Benitez $6.5 - I've loved the play of Benitez and Fabian Castillo on the left side for years. But, it seems Benitez' age is starting to get the better of him after getting beat time and time again.

Andrew Jacobson $6.5 - Jacobson is a decent player. But, when it comes to fantasy, he doesn't produce points. I wouldn't expect him to start producing them now.

It's the third week of the season. Nobody has settled in. Everyone has been up and down so far except for Houston players. But, there are some decent matchups for fantasy managers to exploit.

Who to start/add

Diego Fagundez $8.0 - So, a lot of fantasy managers have Fagundez on their team and have been disappointed so far this season. The drought has to end sometime. If it doesn't at home to Vancouver, it doesn't look good for Fagundez and the Revs. I picked him up this week and I think you should too.

Jermain Defoe $10.6 - Get him while he's hot. I don't expect him to slow down anytime soon. Especially when he's playing a lowly D.C. United side this week. Get him before his price rises too high.

Obafemi Martins $9.5 - He hasn't done much yet. But, he's sure to get back to his goal scoring ways against the Montreal defense Saturday.

Who not to start/add

Brad Evans $7.4 - Evans left the game early against Toronto last week. It doesn't seem like he's going to play. Even if he does, he will not be fully healthy. I wouldn't risk it. Pick someone else if you haven't already.

Bobby Boswell $7.9 - D.C. United face a tough task against Defoe and Toronto. Their backline is not going to be up to the test. They did have a bye last week and extra time to regroup after they were defeated by Columbus Crew 3-0 at home. But, this team has so many new faces. It will take awhile for them to build chemistry. I don't see them fairing well Saturday.

Leonardo $7.5 - The Los Angeles Galaxy lost 3-4 on aggregate to Tijuana in the CONCACAF Champions League earlier this week. Leonardo didn't play all. How will he fair after playing 90+ minutes in Mexico Tuesday night against the likes of Alvaro Saborio and Joao Plata on the road? Not good.

Bye week: Houston Dynamo
