2014 Dallas Cup To Add U17 Super Group

“Super 17s” part of the tournament’s 35th anniversary celebration

As a part of the Dallas Cup's 35th anniversary this year, the tournament is adding another big group to the mix with a Super 17s group. Composed of six international and six domestic teams, the Super 17s bracket will provide the U-17 age group a standout division similar to the U-19's esteemed Gordon Jago Super Group.

The creation of the Super 17s allows the tournament to accept 25% more teams to the U-17 age group than in previous years, an important aspect to the numerous scouts and college coaches that attend the annual event. The twelve teams that will participate in the Super 17s hail from five countries and four states. Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXV will run from April 13th through April 20th, 2014, with the Super 17s final being played on April 20th at the Cotton Bowl Stadium.

The Super 17s group will have three Mexican teams, two Scandinavian teams and one from Costa Rica. The group will also be composed of two teams from California and New Jersey, along with one from Florida. The lone local participant in this group will be the Dallas Texans.
