MLS Cup Throwback: Reliving the last Galaxy and Revs title match in Frisco

Who remembers this game?

It seems crazy to think that it has been eight years since Frisco last hosted the MLS Cup final. While we aren't going to look back on that day in 2006, we are going into the archives to relive the last time the LA Galaxy and the New England Revolution met in the Cup final in 2005 - which also happened to be in Frisco.

Toyota Stadium, or Pizza Hut Park as it was known back then, had just opened its gates to the world. Parking lots weren't finished, offices were still being built but MLS Cup still went on. This one was a classic too as LA and New England were at their best on that day.

Hard to imagine the talent that was on the field that day too. LA had guys like former FCD legends Kevin Hartman and Ugo Ihemelu along with other names like Landon Donovan, Cobi Jones and Herculez Gomez. New England on the other end had another FCD legend in Daniel Hernandez to go with big names like Shalrie Joseph, Taylor Twellman and some young gun named Clint Dempsey.

LA would come away with things on this day in extra time.

Hopefully FC Dallas can get back to hosting this Cup final in the near future.
