Some more news is flowing in on Wednesday afternoon as FC Dallas has announced that defender Stephen Keel is recovering from foot surgery.

The veteran center back is expected to recover from the procedures in eight-to-12 weeks. Keel appeared in 16 regular-season MLS matches for the Dallas side, starting 14 and logging 1,307 minutes. He recorded one assist on the season.

According to the club's press release, Dr. Keith Heier performed a plantar fascia release, great toe cheilectomy and debridement on Keel's right foot, as well as an injection in his left foot. The procedure was performed at the Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery.

Keel was bothered with foot injuries all season long as he partially tore his plantar fascia in his right foot during the club's US Open Cup run against Philadelphia on August 12. Many of you will remember that Keel hobbled around for the final 15 minutes of that match plus two overtime periods.

On Tuesday, the club did pick up Keel's option for 2015.
