Rankings Recap: FC Dallas stumbles on the road again

After a lackluster performance last week, some power rankings have FC Dallas moving down.

"FC Dallas lost on the road" is something we've become accustomed to this season, especially of late. After losing to Vancouver last week, FCD moved down in some rankings. They will look to turn things around at home this weekend against Los Angeles Galaxy.

Here's the latest rankings:

Rank: 3 (Last week: 3)

Comment: We're not super concerned about the result in Vancouver - it's tough to play your game at BC Place. That last five is starting to look ugly, though, and both Fabian Castillo and Mauro Diaz are badly missed.

Rank: 6 (Last week: 4)

Comment: If Dallas faces off against Vancouver in the playoffs, it should be dandy considering the feistiness that has characterized the two most recent encounters, including Saturday's 2-0 win by the Caps. A playoff spot is a near certainty, but to do some damage in the postseason, Dallas will need Fabian Castillo back in the lineup.

Sports Illustrated

Rank: 4 (Last week: 3)

Comment: With a spot in the playoffs virtually secured, Dallas has traded wins and losses for the past four matches. Regardless of the other results leading into the postseason, its next match against the Galaxy should provide a good measure of where the team really is despite its recent inconsistency.

Rank: 8 (Last week: 8)

Comment: Just six of their last 18 available points have been claimed by FCD. The Galaxy, Rapids, and Timbers remain, and the numbers in the win column may end up being their biggest ally.

Seattle Times

Rank: 3 (Last week: 3)

Comment: Vancouver loss hurt push for vital third-place finish.
