Third place is least for now.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

The final week of the regular season is upon us. So much left to decide after this past weekend didn't clear too much up. Lets dive into some daily links first.

Taking control of third place |

FCD placed themselves in the drivers seat for third place in the Western Conference this weekend.

FCD avoids letdown game in Colorado |

This past weekend could have easily been a trap game for FCD after clinching a playoff spot. Thankfully the win proved the team could get points away from home again.

Hedges thrilled to overtake RSL |

The FCD captain was definitely relieved like all of us that FCD made the leap.

Warshaw on the human importance of Landon Donovan |

Our old pal Bobby Warshaw was at it again over the weekend with his latest write-up. Just fine work that we've come to expect from him.

Week 32 thoughts |

Plenty of Supporters Shield talk after last night's 2-2 draw in LA. I'm kind of glad it will come down to one final game next week between those two sides in Seattle. Let them beat each other up before going into the playoffs.

Whitecaps and DCU join Sounders and LA in CCL |

Thanks to some results over the weekend, both DCU and Vancouver clinched berths into the next edition of the CCL. Only one more US spot remains, which goes to the MLS Cup champion. If for some reason FCD isn't the Cup champion but one of those four teams are (and they win on Saturday), the spot will be theirs.

DCU finishes first, completes turnaround |

Now that the turnaround is complete, at least the regular season part, I wonder how many clubs going into the offseason will try to replicate the DCU formula here. Have a core group of young players and mix in a handful of veteran players.

Boys II Men sang a tribute song to Landon Donovan |

Apparently, Donovan loves him some B2M, so naturally they came to sing for him.

Homegrown stars like Gyasi Zardes are transforming MLS | Deadspin

I was a little hesitant to link to Deadspin after their remarks earlier this year but this piece was worth the read.

And lastly I leave you with some lovely tifo from this past weekend...lovely may be a bit sarcastic in some cases.

Toronto and Montreal fans had a field day on Saturday. But the best may be the one on Philadelphia.

That is all for now, comment below with anything on your mind.
