The playoff push is heating up for FC Dallas. The pressure is beginning to mount with each game and on Saturday night it was evident in the 3-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Dallas fought back after giving up an early Whitecaps' goal with strikes from Je-Vaughn Watson, Mauro Diaz and Jair Benitez.

Both sides wasted no time getting on the board as they each traded goals in the first 10 minutes.

Vancouver made quick work of the Dallas defense four minutes in as Kobayashi slid in behind the Dallas defense and hammered home a wide open pass from Kenny Miller. Camilo opened up the play with a ball wide to Miller and his quick pass into the penalty box to easy not to score for Kobayashi.

Dallas would respond minutes later as Watson took a pass from Fabian Castillo at the top of the 18-yard box. Watson made one cut by a defender and let it rip from distance for Dallas' first goal of the game.

In the 25th minute Watson nearly bagged his second goal of the night. He and Castillo linked up again on the left side of the field with another clever give-and-go play. Castillo flicked the ball onto the run from Watson but the Jamaican's shot went just wide of the goal.

Dallas nearly went ahead in the 35th minute when Andrew Jacobson found David Ferreira on the near sideline. The former MLS MVP dribbled towards the penalty box and placed a perfect ball into Jackson, who's little flick towards goal went just wide of the post.

Both teams opened up the second half with some renewed energy. Vancouver controlled the first 10 minutes of the second half before Dallas settled back down into their own game.

Dallas finally made the breakthrough in the 87th minute, on the counter attack, as Eric Hassli calmly took the a through ball down, laid it off to Castillo who went to the end line and then put a beautiful cross across the face of the goal for Diaz to finish on the volley. It was Diaz's second goal with Dallas.

Minutes later in the 90th minute, Benitez stole the ball in his own in and dribbled past midfield and then let a rocket of a shot by Whitecaps keeper David Ousted for the third Dallas goal of the night.

For now, with the three points, Dallas pushes back into the playoff picture.
