Quote Sheet:

FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman

It seems we were very hesitant and slow to react. Put yourself 20 minutes into the game and already down 2-0 - it's not a good place to be.

I didn't think they had many chances today that they didn't finish.

We've realized that we have to get points and we are running out of games. We've been trying to focus on the three games left at home and now this is one game that's gotten away from us. Can we win on the road? Yes, but we still have to make this game up. In order to be in the playoffs, we need at least three wins and we now have four games to do it.

I have a lot of compliments for Columbus. They played extremely well. They worked extremely hard and they finished. They are probably as good as any team that's played against us this year.

The first thing you look at is if we were prepared. It sounded like we were ready for them in the locker room, but it didn't carry over in the field. I think that the intent was there, but both teams had the same ambition and that's to win. It's the team that prepares themselves the most and believes in themselves the most that usually wins. I thought we were prepared, I thought we believed in ourselves but it didn't show.

FC Dallas forward Blas Perez

General thoughts on the match...

Getting scored on twice during the first 15 minutes felt like we were doused with cold water. We were able to get close during the first half, but unfortunately at this point it seems like there are few possibilities for the playoffs. We need to win the next four games to see if there's still hope to qualify.

Columbus came here ready to take the three points. They were able to create opportunities to score that we weren't able to stop. We are making several errors, but I hope that we can improve on that.

At this point, we have to win at any price. Sometimes it takes getting to the end of the season to react. We did nearly the same thing last year with a rough slump towards the end of the season, but we still have 12 points to fight for and I hope that we can win them all.

FC Dallas defender Kellyn Acosta

On passing Ruben Luna (663) for the most minutes played by an FC Dallas Homegrown player (717) during tonight's game...

Someone told me I would pass him the other day... I didn't really think too much about it. I'm just glad to be getting minutes... Unfortunate result today... We're just trying to stay positive and look forward towards next game and try and get a win.

On his development at the MLS level this season...

I feel more comfortable. I feel like I am adjusting to the speed of play. My decision making needs to be a little better. I feel like I can still play smarter and quicker and play a bigger role in helping my team out.

FC Dallas midfielder Andrew Jacobson

General thoughts on the match...

There is no sugar coating how important this game was to our season. We really needed to win it. We gave up some poor goals. We also created a lot of chances... The game was really stretched. In the end, Columbus played a lot more collectively than us. We got back into that offense or defense mentality. Columbus played team soccer. I don't think they were better than us or anything. They just played to their strengths, played as a team. They came here and got a good result.

On not getting a lot of touches in the center of the pitch during the first half...

I think Columbus was man marking a little bit. I felt like when I went out wide one of those center midfielders would follow me out there. We weren't able to find the gaps. Usually if a team is pressing up on your midfield like that you can find the forwards and play through the lines but we weren't able to do that. We ran out of answers. We got a little better in the second half. We created a lot of chances. We just didn't finish the chances we had. In the end, we had a chance to tie it up and still have five minutes left to push for a win but we weren't able to convert. Very disappointing... Very disappointing.
