Bradlee Baladez started in his first game on loan with the NASL's Fort Lauderdale Strikers this past weekend. The FC Dallas forward alongside fellow homegrown player Richard Sanchez helped the Strikers earn their first victory of the NASL fall season in a 2-1 win at San Antonio.
Baladez started and played 73 minutes in the win while Sanchez went the full 90 for the first straight week.
In the 15th minute, Baladez was fouled just outside the top of the box. Strikers' forward Mark Anderson free kick goal helped give Fort Lauderdale an early two goal lead after Martin Nunez scored just a minute into the match.
The Scorpions scored their only goal of the game in extra time of the first half when Sanchez dropped a corner kick from Javier Saavedra and Tomasz Zahorski was able to tap it in to cut the lead in half.
Next up for Sanchez and Baladez will be a road trip to Atlanta to face the NASL spring champions, the Atlanta Silverbacks. The next home match for the Strikers will be Friday August 30th, 2013 against the Carolina Railhawks.
