In a World Cup qualifying tune-up Raul Fernandez and Peru went the full 90 in a 0-0 draw Wednesday against South Korea.
According to reports from the match, Fernandez came up big for the Peruvians making some big saves in the shutout. This report from El Comercio said Fernandez was Peru's man of the match and has video of an incredible save by Fernandez.
South Korea came close several times but Fernandez was forced into a smart save on Keun-Ho Lee. The Sangju Sangmu forward slid in and volleyed a deep cross goalwards, but Fernandez was equal to his effort.
Peru will be hoping this performance helps boost their play when they host Uruguay in their next FIFA World Cup qualifier in September.
Raul is expected to fly directly to Portland to meet up with FCD in plenty of time for Saturday's match against the Timbers and as the evidence shows, he's in fine form.
