Recapping The Rankings: After The RSL Embarrassment

Free-falling FCD.....

This weekend's match was the type of match that could turn the team around and fix their recent woes. On the other hand, it was also the type of match that could send the Hoops tumbling and panicking if the result did not go in their favor. Unfortunately, it was the latter that occurred and the rankings reflect that.

Rank: 11 (last week 7)

Comment: No wins since May 25. No real answers anywhere on the pitch. Bad times in Frisco.

Rank: 12 (last week 8)

Comment: FCD is in freefall after losing at home to RSL, extending its winless streak to seven matches. And after getting shut out for the third consecutive game, the onus is on the attack to begin finishing off some of the team's neat approach work.

Rank: 9 (last week 5)

Comment: It seems like just yesterday that Dallas were atop MLS power rankings and true Supporters' Shield contenders. Now they're just four points off of sixth place. Yikes.

Sports Illustrated

Rank: 10 (last week 4)

Comment: The slide goes on for FC Dallas, which has not scored in three straight games, has not won in seven straight games and is falling back to the middle of the pack after setting a torrid pace out of the gate. Getting George John back to 100 percent would go a long way in FCD tightening things up in the back, as the center back has missed the last four matches and seen his team concede seven goals in that time.

Bleacher Report

Rank: 10 (last week 6)

Comment: The free-falling form of FC Dallas continued on Saturday against Real Salt Lake. Schellas Hyndman's club lost their second consecutive match and extended their winless streak to seven in their disappointing performance at home. Since that winless streak began, FC Dallas have dropped from first to fourth in the Western Conference standings.
