FC Dallas Gets Another Late Comeback In 2-2 Draw At Philadelphia

Down a man and down a goal, FC Dallas battles back.

The never say die attitude continues for FC Dallas as they drew the Philadelphia Union 2-2 on Saturday evening at PPL Park.

Dallas got a late Blas Perez goal in the seventh minute of extra time to secure a draw, their sixth on the season in another wild match against an Eastern Conference opponent. The Hoops were down a man for 22 minutes thanks to a second yellow card to midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson.

The game was pretty open and fluid for both sides in the first half as they both exchanged early goals. Philadelphia scored the games' first goal in the 20th minute from defender Amobi Okugo. The Union scored their goal off a long throw in from Sheanon Williams.

Thankfully Dallas responded quickly in the 24th minute when Michel set up rookie Walker Zimmerman for his second goal of the season.

The game remained level until the 87th minute when the Union looked to have found the game-winner with Aaron Wheelers' goal.

But once again in the late stages of the game Dallas had an answer for the Union as rookie London Woodberry crashed into keeper Zac MacMath, allowing the ball to spill out to David Ferreira who was able to direct it on to Perez for his sixth goal of the season and to tie the game up a two goals apiece.

Dallas went winless in the month of June but given how the last two games went for the team, they are still in a good position in the Western Conference with 30 points through 17 games.
