After yesterday's reports, FC Dallas has now made it official. On Tuesday, the club announced the signing of Homegrown midfielder Danny Garcia. He is FC Dallas' 11th Homegrown signing.

Garcia, who is currently with the U.S. U-20 National Team for the 2013 U-20 World Cup, earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors with the North Carolina Tar Heels in 2012 after tallying four goals and six assists in 23 games.

Garcia and teammate Kellyn Acosta helped the U-17/18 Academy to a title in 2012, winning the Academy Finals Week title game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. Acosta and Garcia are currently in Portugal with the U.S. team preparing for the World Cup, which begins next week.

"We are really excited to have yet another one of our Homegrown players sign with FC Dallas," said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman. "Danny Garcia is a very talented player. Watching him three years ago, we all knew he had a lot of potential. He has played a few matches with our reserve team, where he has done well. He has trained a number of times with our first team and now he is part of the U.S. Under-20 team competing at the World Cup. He is a talented left-sided player who will have plenty of opportunities to help FC Dallas find success."

Garcia joins Acosta, Bradlee Baladez, Jesse Gonzalez and London Woodberry as the latest in Homegrown signings by the club over the last calendar year.
