Who Should Start Against Fort Lauderdale?

New, 35 comments

A mixed group of starters and reserves are headed to Florida for the third round match in the USOC.

Tuesday night could be an interesting test for FC Dallas. The club is headed to South Florida to face the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the NASL in the third round of the 2013 US Open Cup.

My sources have given me an update as to who traveled to Florida. For the most part it was a pretty strong group of players but some of the reserves mixed in make for an interesting selection for Schellas Hyndman.

Hyndman stated after the 1-0 win over San Jose on Saturday that they plan on taking this match and tournament very serious. He also mentioned how this tournament is a direct link to the CONCACAF Champions League for the club. Hyndmen even said that he believes this is the easiest path to the CCL. Also, with the tournament in Lamar Hunt's name, Hyndman stated that it is the club's obligation to take this tournament serious.

There were a few bigger names left out of the trip to Florida were Raul Fernandez, Andrew Jacobson, Kenny Cooper and Jackson.

Given some of the names listed out here is who I see starting Tuesday night in Fort Lauderdale.

---- Chris Seitz ----

Jair Benitez ---- Walker Zimmerman ----- George John ----- London Woodberry

Fabian Castillo ---- Bobby Warshaw ---- Je-Vaughn Watson ---- Ramon Nunez

Eric Hassli ---- Blas Perez

From there the bench would look something like this: Kyle Zobeck, Michel, Matt Hedges, Zach Loyd, Stephen Keel, David Ferreira, and Bradlee Baladez.

For those wondering, Kellyn Acosta is already gone with the US U-20s, he wasn't available for this match. Homegrown players Jonathan Top and Victor Ulloa aren't apart of this trip. And both Mexican keepers Jesse Gonzalez and Richard Sanchez did not make this trip as well.

What's your lineup look like?
