FC Dallas Fantasy Manager Watch: Week 6

New, 10 comments

To go all in or to stay safe, that is the big question.

Editorial note: Each week (or so) here at, we will take a look at the FC Dallas players you should be looking at to add to your Fantasy Manager team. To join the BDS group, use code 9134-1792.

It is Thursday, so that means it is time to bust out the MLS Fantasy Manager game and set your lineup for the upcoming weekend. FC Dallas travels to Canada for the first time in 2013 to face Toronto FC on Saturday at BMO Field.

Just like for every week, you are given the chance to play three players from any club, so which FC Dallas players are worth a look this weekend against the Reds?

Highlight pick

Blas Perez ($9.0M, 8 points) - Okay, Perez hasn't exactly lit the MLS Fantasy Manager game on fire yet but I think after last week's goal against New England, it is a good time to go out and get him. He is a tad pricy but with five clubs having a week off this weekend (including LA and Seattle), it may be a good time to take a gamble on him. He is starting to get in a groove as a striker and that can only mean that goals are going to start coming.

Three pack for Week 6

If you aren't in the mood to gamble on Perez for Week 6, here are the week's three pack of FCD players worth putting on your roster against Toronto.

Michel ($5.3M, 34 points) - The defensive midfielder/left back is one of the top scorers in the entire game so far. He's still at a good price and given how he'll play in the midfield and not in the defense, it is almost like a bonus.

Matt Hedges ($5.3M, 33 points) - Another top player in the game at the moment, Hedges is a cheaper option than his defensive partner George John but he is still gobbling up points left and right so far this season.

Andrew Jacobson ($5.9M, 24 points) - AJ has quietly been consistent in this game so far in 2013. He's still at a good price for a midfielder, being under $6M and as long as the team does well, so will his point totals.

Gamble picks

Eric Hassli ($8.2M, 3 points) - You say that the Frenchman hasn't done much so far this season? Sure. But what makes him a good gamble this weekend is the fact that he is facing his old club. Players like Hassli love doing well against former clubs and especially in front of their fans. He'll likely come off the bench in this one, which makes him a gamble for not getting the full 90's worth of points. Still, it could be a risk worth taking.

Stay away from

Don't add a Homegrown just to do it. But just like last week I'd keep away from Je-Vaughn Watson ($6.5M) and even Bobby Warshaw ($4.1M). Neither will start in this one so the points won't be big if they do get in the game.

The 1-0 win was a good one for the defenders of the team yet again.
