If you haven't already thrown your .02 into the Blas Perez prediction, do it now!
With all the new additions, I think many forget about the fact that Fabian Castillo made enormous steps forward in the second half of 2012. With David Ferreira back on the pitch, Castillo was nearly unstoppable, scoring four goals in his last seven starts including a fantastic performance in the season finale against Chivas USA.
With Ferreira back and fit as well as the well-documented additions, it's really going to be a case of pick your poison for opposing defenses regardless of what we saw on Sunday against AIK. Given the fact that Ferreira will draw most of the double teams, Fabian Castillo should be left one on one against MLS right backs most of the season which is an exciting proposition if you're an FC Dallas fan.
Last year, the BDS community was pretty spot on in the Fabian Castillo prediction, nailing the goals, but overpredicting the assists by a bit.
Castillo has shown extremely well in pre-season and aims to be an All-Star in 2013.
"It's my third year and every year, you're expecting to be better," Castillo told MLSsoccer.com through a translator. "I'm feeling more comfortable and I'm very happy with the organization and the coaching staff.
"I feel that this year is going to be the year I take it to the next level with my skills to contribute to the team and get results from the start."
So what do you see out of Castillo this year? Can he turn more of a provider than in the past or will he snatch up the goals while defenses key on players like Ferreira, Blas Perez and Kenny Cooper?
