Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down: Kyle Zobeck

The Supplemental Draft pick didn't earn any minutes with the first team in 2013.

We have only two more names on the year-end roster evaluations for FC Dallas. We're going with the Roman theme of thumbs up or thumbs down for this series.

Today's subject is goalkeeper Kyle Zobeck.

Zobeck was drafted in the second round of the 2013 Supplemental Draft. Few were surprised to see Dallas take a keeper in the Supplemental draft, even with the fact that they already had Richard Sanchez, Chris Seitz and Raul Fernandez signed. But the club knew they needed a fourth keeper to go through this 2013 campaign.

Zobeck never saw any minutes with the first team but did make the bench for the final couple games of the season. The Iowa native played a more prominent role in the late stages of the season, having started three of the final five MLS Reserve League matches notching two wins including a season-ending shutout against Chicago.

But next year may be difficult to see Zobeck stay. While he was cheap for FC Dallas to have in 2013, the club will likely have Richard Sanchez back as well as another Homegrown keeper in Jesse Gonzalez. A lot will come down to whether or not FCD keeps Chris Seitz as well.

But we give you the option here, thumbs up, or thumbs down for Zobeck?
