The regular season is over for college soccer. The small group of FC Dallas academy alum in the college game are now turning their attention to the College Cup.
Several tough match-ups await as the tournament kicks off tomorrow.
You can view the entire bracket here.
Body Okwuono (UNC)
UNC finished the year with a lot of draws and shutouts but that also meant it pushed them out of the top 16 seeds with their early exit in the ACC tournament. Okwuono leads the Tar Heels into a big matchup against American Athletic Conference champions South Florida tomorrow at 7pm. The winner gets a tough cross-country trip this weekend against the No. 12 seed UC Irvine.
Okwuono finished the regular season (and conference tournament) with 18 starts, encompassing 1705 minutes.
Mikey Ambrose (Maryland)
Ambrose and Maryland would win the ACC tournament, which would help them lock up the No. 5 seed in the tournament (yes, that means should UNC move through to the third round, they could face Maryland). Maryland will get the winners of Penn and Providence.
Ambrose finished the regular season (and conference tournament) with 20 starts, going 1904 minutes. He also picked up four assists on the season, good for third best on the Maryland roster.
Nicholas Rochowski (New Mexico)
New Mexico enters the tournament as the No. 7 seed. The Lobos would reach that seed despite getting blown out 3-0 in the Conference USA semifinals to Tulsa. New Mexico did however end the regular season as the conference champions. Rochowski and New Mexico will await the winner of the George Mason-William & Mary matchup.
Rochowski finished the regular season (and conference tournament) with 17 games played and nine starts, good for 555 minutes. He also ended the year with one goal.
We will keep you up to date on the progress of these three as they go through the tournament.
