The future continues to look bright when you see releases such as this one. United States U-17 national team coach Richie Williams has called in a group of players from around the country ahead of this weekend's two friendly matches with Canada in Fort Lauderdale.

The brief camp and friendlies will serve as preparation for the U-17s ahead of next month's high-profile meetings with their counterparts from Brazil, England and Portugal at the Nike International Friendlies and Development Academy Showcase in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

Out of the eight players from MLS academies called up for this camp, two of them hail from the FC Dallas Academy. Midfielders Weston McKennie and Alejandro Zendejas will join their teammates for the weekend matches.
