FC Dallas was unable to sustain offensive pressure on a team down a man in a match they needed to win. Real Salt Lake showed us all why they are legitimate contenders for the MLS Cup while the Hoops continue to prove to us why they should not even have a whiff of the postseason. RSL struck first and it took a brilliant individual effort for FCD to equalize effectively ending their playoff hopes (again).

Comment: Two wins in their last 18. That's an amazing stat for a team with all-star talent in every quadrant of the field.

Comment: Dallas didn't help itself by managing only a point against an RSL side that played a man down for much of the match. Kenny Cooper's equalizer prevented complete embarrassment, yet playoff elimination could come as early as this week.

Comment: Up a man for more than 70 minutes, FC Dallas was unable to come up with a decisive performance when it needed one most and needed a late goal by Kenny Cooper just to salvage a point in a 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake. Seven points out of a playoff spot with three games remaining, Schellas Hyndman's side is left wondering where things went wrong after its blistering start to the campaign.

Comment: FC Dallas finally ended their three-match losing streak against Real Salt Lake, but they could only manage a draw against a team that played with 10 men for the majority of the match. Kenny Cooper scored a 72nd-minute equalizer for Schellas Hyndman's club to earn a point that did absolutely nothing to help the playoff chances of the Hoops.

Soccer America

Rank: 16 (last week 17)

Comment: Kenny Cooper scored his first goal since mid-May and FCD broke a three-game losing streak by tying RSL, 1-1, on the road. However, FCD played a man up for the final 65 minutes and needed to rally after falling behind.
