Updated 2013 MLS Playoff Race: Six Teams Can Clinch

Update: It looks like the original release sent to me by Major League Soccer had it wrong about FC Dallas. Should they lose or tie Chicago this weekend, they'll be eliminated.

Six clubs can clinch a playoff spot this weekend, while two other clubs could be eliminated from playoff contention. Amazingly, FC Dallas isn't one of those two teams.

The only bad news is, four of the five Western Conference spots could be taken by the end of this week.

Sporting Kansas City will clinch a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs IF

· Chicago Fire tie or lose vs. FC Dallas on Saturday

· Philadelphia Union lose vs. D.C. United on Saturday

Houston Dynamo will clinch a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs IF

· New England Revolution tie or lose vs. Montréal Impact on Saturday AND

· Chicago Fire lose vs. FC Dallas on Saturday

Columbus Crew will be eliminated from playoff contention IF
· Houston Dynamo win or tie vs. Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday AND

· Montréal Impact win vs. New England Revolution on Saturday AND

· Philadelphia Union win vs. D.C. United on Saturday
