Time for a check up of our old pal Brek Shea.

A report out of England on Thursday indicated that midfielder Brek Shea will be loaned out by English Premier League side Stoke City in an attempt to get him more playing time ahead of the World Cup next summer.

The report suggests that the former FC Dallas midfielder will join a second-tier English Championship side.

Shea has been battling injury issues ever since he landed in England earlier this year. Those injuries have hurt his chances with Jurgen Klinsmann and the United States national team. So far this season, Shea has only played 45 minutes in a Capital One Cup game for Stoke.

The report also says that Shea is expected to be moved before the emergency loan window closes on Nov. 28.

Shea suffered a foot injury earlier this year when the Potters were touring the country. Against the Philadelphia Union, he was tackled hard by Union midfielder Matt Cassel which left him hobbling on crutches following the friendly.
