This morning was a fairly limited session as the reserves did not participate in practice due to their reserve game yesterday. I think it is a testament to how much healthier this team is, however, by the fact that there was enough players to conduct a full practice.
Today was mainly speed of thought work on working out of tight spaces and then a little bit of possession work. Nothing too earth shattering.
Notes
For my George John Injury Update click here - George was seen on crutches and a walking boot this morning but a source close to the team is still optimistic that he can play next Saturday. I just can't see how that can happen even though George is about as much of a gamer as there is out there in terms of playing through pain.
Perhaps a likely scenario is he makes the substitutes bench in case of an injury as there is really no center back left on the roster besides Pertuz/Hedges that is healthy.
Quote of the day - Schellas Hyndman on the final moments of Saturday's game
They’re knocking it out we’re putting it back in and with a minute left in the game we get a corner kick and...Mattocks does everything right, he gets it out, he gets it away in the air and Julian’s perfectly technical ability traps it down and finishes. The emotions were complete chaos, excitement and it felt like things are starting to go right. A lot of excitement and it was a very very emotional game for us.
It's just going to be a pretty quiet week...and I think that's not necessarily a bad thing.
