The month of June is somewhat of a summer oasis for FC Dallas. After months of five and seven competitive games in April and May, Dallas has just two games in June including three of five weekends off before things ramp up again in July. Let's take a quick look at what's ahead for FC Dallas this month.

Saturday, June 16 at Houston Dynamo - BBVA Compass Stadium 630PM ESPN2

An absolutely huge game. Any time you play your in-state rivals it's big and with the new schedule rules where you only play Eastern Conference teams once, this game will decide who takes home "El Capitan." This match has equally big meaning as with a win Dallas could become the first MLS away team to win at BBVA Compass Stadium, a mark that you'd always want on your biggest rivals and they would also end their 9-game winless streak before tying the record of 10 games winless set back in 2005.

FC Dallas hasn't lost in Houston since 2009 and will be coming into this one with two full weeks of practice to prepare. Houston, 3-2-1 against the Western Conference this season, comes into the match off a 3-1 loss at Vancouver on Sunday night.

The other June game after the jump

Saturday, June 23 FC Dallas vs Chivas USA - FC Dallas Stadium 800PM Fox Sports Southwest

FCD plays their first MLS home game in over a month vs Chivas USA next Saturday night. This is really another must-win for a Dallas side that has struggled at home in recent weeks. Playing what is likely one of their main contenders for one of the final playoff spots in the West, this is one Dallas vitally needs.

Chivas USA will head into the FCD match in the middle of a 4 games in 11 days stretch as they have RSL on the 16th, Montreal on the 20th and FCD on the 23rd before their USOC quarterfinal against Charlotte. This is definitely one there for the taking.

Overall

If FCD doesn't get at least three points, and preferably 4-6 from these two games, things start looking very bleak. However, if you can sneak wins out of these two with Toronto up on July 4th, the ingredients for a season-saving run are there.
