Blas Perez Suspended Two Games To Start 2013

The striker was also fined an undisclosed amount.

Forgive us a moment for getting to this little nugget of information so late. It came down Friday evening, as most MLS Discipline Committee emails typically do.

FC Dallas forward Blas Perez will be sitting out the first two games of the 2013 season and will be fined an undisclosed amount.

The suspension is for his violent conduct that endangered the safety of Bobby Burling of Chivas USA in the 35th minute of the match on Sunday, October 28th. The MLS Players Union appealed the Committee's decision on behalf of Perez. MLS Commissioner Don Garber heard the appeal and elected to uphold the Committee's decision. Perez's suspension will be served during the first two matches of the 2013 MLS Regular Season.

We haven't gotten too far into the post season and FC Dallas will already be short a key player to start the new season out next year. Time to really find that quality back-up striker for Perez now!
