I can't say we're all too thrilled about this but sometimes that is the business of things. FC Dallas announced Thursday that they have placed defender Kyle Davies on waivers.
Injuries were always an issue with Davies. He started the 2010 season-opener at center back before fracturing his right arm in the 55th minute. The injury kept Davies out for a large part of the season. He eventually rehabbed and returned to lineup September against the San Jose Earthquakes. Davies made his second start of the 2010 season and played the full 90 minutes three games later against Kansas City.
Davies had spent most of this season sidelined but was getting closer to coming back. I'd image this was a mutual decision by the club and Davies as he had to know getting back into the starting lineup would be a big task seeing how George John and Ugo Ihemelu have the center back positions on lockdown at the moment.
I'm not sure which clubs are near the top of the waiver list at the moment but you have to imagine someone will take a chance with him. He's still a quality player when healthy and one that could vastly improve a club's backline.
