While things may not be going so smoothly on the field, at least some of the guys are getting recognition off it. Daniel Hernandez has been very active in the local community which lead to being named the MLS W.O.R.K.S. Humanitarian of the Month for April.

Hernandez is involved in the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. He got involved with the Reeve Foundation after a 1999 car accident involving his brother Nico. Nico was involved in a car accident while returning to Dallas from the Hernandez’s hometown of Tyler, Texas. Nico’s best friend was killed in the accident, and Nico’s spinal cord was severed, paralyzing him from the chest down.
