Defender Edson Edwards now has six to nine months to recover after a successful knew surgery today. FC Dallas announced today that the second-year defender had surgery to repare a torn ACL on his right knee.

FRISCO, Texas (Feb. 23, 2011) – FC Dallas defender Edson Edward underwent surgery on his right knee yesterday. Dr. Tarek Souryal from Texas Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Group successfully reconstructed Edward’s ACL and repaired his lateral collateral ligament.
Edward injured the knee during an indoor training session at Fieldhouse USA on Feb. 3. The team had moved indoors after snow and ice blanketed the DFW Metroplex. Recovery is expected to take six to nine months.
