It's getting to be that time of year again where we announce the Gordon Jago Super Group teams for Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIII. We're proud to announce the first Super Group team will be Premier League U18 Academy Champions Everton FC from Liverpool, England.
The Blues won their first Premier Academy League championship in 2011, defeating Fulham FC 2-1 in the final to book their first ever appearance in the Super Group. Everton is making their first trip to Dallas Cup for any age group since 1999 when the Blues and some guy named Wayne Rooney played in the prestigious tournament.
Stay tuned as we announce more teams from this year's Gordon Jago Super Group. With Nike as a sponsor, we were able to have teams like Barcelona, Corinthians and Arsenal here last year and next week we will announce some huge names coming to DC33. I can't reveal them but I will reveal that we have a Champions League winner and Copa Libertadores winner coming to this year's addition.
