FC Dallas selects five in MLS Supplemental Draft

This afternoon in the final draft of the offseason, we think, FCD picked 5 more guys to fill out the roster at preseason camp.

Dallas had three picks towards the end of the first round and selected Alexis Pradie, a French defender from Embry-Riddle of NAIA. Pradie was an honorable mention NAIA All-American this year and second team All-American last year. He is originally from Marseille, France and spent 9 years with Olympique Marseille.

With their second pick, they chose Paul Ogunyemi from tiny Schoolcraft College, a 2 year community college in Michigan. Its tough to find anything on this guy except he played for the Portland Timbers PDL side this past summer. Perhaps someone from Portland could give us a little more information on him.

With their third pick in the first round, Dallas selected a more familiar name, Brayan Martinez from Seton Hall. Martinez was second team all-Big East and led the team in points with 14(6 goals, 2 assists). From what I've read, Martinez is a flashy left sided midfielder who has a lot of tricks but doesn't really seem like a Schellas type player. If you're second team all-Big East you've got some talent though so he'll be one to watch in pre-season.

Dallas' final two picks were guys I've actually seen play in Kekoa Osorio from SMU and Craig Hill also from SMU. Osorio was the defensive midfielder and team captain of the SMU side that made it to the final 8 of the NCAA tournament. He's a hard-nosed, decent player with good passing range, but offers almost nothing going forward. Look out for this guy though as an injury here or there could see him as a darkhorse to make the final roster.

Hill is a big, strong goalkeeper from SMU who likely won't have a chance of making the roster with Hartman, Seitz and Lambo already there, but as Buzz from 3rddegree has said, FCD likes to have four keepers in training and Hill is a very nice guy who will fit well in the locker room for pre-season before hopefully catching on with a USL side.
