2010 will go down as a disappointing year for US youth international Kyle Davies. Starting 10 games for FC Dallas last season at the age of 20, Davies was a player to watch for 2010, but injuries proved to hamper his season from the start.
Davies would start the first game of 2010 against Houston before having to leave midway through the game and not being seen again for nearly 6 months. Kyle would make a strong end to 2010, playing a fantastic 90 minutes in central defense at the 3-1 win over Kansas City.
Davies is a player that should certainly remain on FC Dallas in 2011 as he's still just 21 years old and has obvious talent in central defense. With the reserve, CCL and USOC games next season, Davies should get ample playing time and he's definitely one to keep an eye on.
In 2011, Kyle simply needs to stay fit and keep developing. He's got great examples to learn from in Ugo and George John so there's a lot of reason to be optimistic for the young American defender.
