It's an annual occurrence where the MLS Players Union leaks the player salaries and the fans get a good look at just how ridiculous some of the salaries are, both low and high.
One interesting thing that I hadn't thought about before when looking at the salaries is while MLS is still a low paying league in terms of the better but not designated players, they pay their good young players and they pay them well. Sure MLB players will make more in the long run, but there's plenty of highish MLB draft picks who won't make more than some of the Generation Adidas players in their first few years. Take for example Teal Bunbury in KC who's guaranteed $163,000 this year...that's some nice change. Hell, Bruno Guarda is guaranteed over $100 grand this year and just $7k less than Daniel Hernandez.
