With the big Inter game behind us, it's time to shift the focus back to a huge MLS weekend in which the schedule is set up perfectly to watch almost 6 full games.
Toronto FC vs Chivas USA
3PM Central-Telefutura and MLS MatchDay Live
Preki faces his former team at BMO Field in a game where both teams need the three points. Chivas USA has owned Toronto FC since the Canadians joined the league winning 5 out of 6 league encounters.
Toronto is winless in four league matches while Chivas is on their best run of the season, having achieved good results against two of the best teams in MLS, beating Columbus last weekend and drawing at RSL two weeks ago.
Dallas fans should pull for Chivas USA, but I think Toronto wins this one as Preki will do everything he can to get three points against his old team.
Prediction: Toronto FC 2 Chivas USA 1
The rest after the jump
New England vs DC United
6:30PM Central-MLS MatchDay Live
A snoozer at Gillette Stadium featuring the two worst teams in the league. The two worst defenses in the league against two of the three worst offenses, something's got to give! At least Andy Najar's playing....
Prediction: New England 1 DC United 1
Kansas City vs Real Salt Lake
7:30PM Central-MLS MatchDay Live
One of the games of the weekend as RSL travels to a hot Kansas City team that has 7 points in their last three games. All FC Dallas fans should certainly root for the Wizards in this one as an RSL loss with an FC Dallas win on Sunday would pull Dallas within 4 points of second place in the west.
Prediction:Kansas City 1 Real Salt Lake 1
Colorado vs San Jose
8PM Central-MLS MatchDay Live
A injury-stricken San Jose squad that has just 7 points in their last 8 MLS games travels to Colorado to face a Rapids side that desperately needs three points to keep pace in the West. From an FC Dallas fan standpoint, both teams are hot on the heels of Dallas, so a draw would probably be the best result. Unfortunately, Colorado will finally get three points for the first time in 7 games.
Prediction:Colorado Rapids 2 San Jose 0
FC Dallas vs Philadelphia Union
Sunday 5PM Central(ugh)-Fox Soccer Channel
Preview of this one coming up later
Chicago Fire vs New York
Sunday 8PM Central-ESPN 2
Now this game has got some serious star power. Up to five Designated Players could be on the field(Henry, Ljungberg, Angel, Marquez, Castillo) and it's in beautiful ESPNHD, what more could you want?
Chicago probably needs the three points more than New York, but who can bet against the Red Bulls right now with Henry in the starting lineup. It's going to take some time for Freddy and Nery to gel with their new team.
Prediction:New York 2 Chicago 1
Seattle Sounders FC vs Houston Dynamo
10PM Central-MLS MatchDay Live
Houston travels to Seattle for a late night end to the MLS weekend in what should be a firey matchup between two teams who don't like each other very much. A draw would probably be the best result for Dallas fans and that's exactly what I think will happen.
Prediction: Seattle 1 Houston 1
