Could an eleventh Homegrown player for FC Dallas be on the way? It certainly appears to be that way.
Reports on Monday morning suggest that FC Dallas has signed forward/midfielder Danny Garcia to a Homegrown deal. No comment from the club as to when the deal will be announced however.
Garcia was a standout with the FC Dallas academy team before going off to the University of North Carolina, where he had a stellar freshman year for the Tar Heels.
Garcia earned a spot on this year's US U-20 national team roster for the upcoming World Cup in Turkey. He joins fellow FC Dallas teammate Kellyn Acosta on that roster.
According to the report, Garcia was beginning to gain interest from a number of foreign clubs. It only makes sense for FC Dallas to lock up one of their own like this before a World Cup. Garcia joins London Woodberry, Bradlee Baladez and Jesse Gonzalez as FC Dallas academy players who have signed since the end of the 2012 season.
