For possibly the first time in a long while, FC Dallas manager Schellas Hyndman will have lineup options come Saturday when his club faces the Colorado Rapids. Yes, there are still some players banged up but most players are seen training this week.
The biggest news was seeing defender Zach Loyd return to training after being sidelined with a ACL sprain last month. Loyd was said to be a little rusty early on this week in training by Hyndman. The Gaffer told me on Tuesday that Loyd will likely still be a question mark come Saturday when the team visits the Rapids. Plus with the emergence of Kellyn Acosta, Hyndman isn't about to mix up his lineup for a player coming off a ACL injury just yet.
Veteran midfielder Peter Luccin is also inching closer to returning to the first team as well. Last week he competed in a Reserve League match in New York but was still listed on the injury report in the IR section. I have been told he is probably another week away from being cleared of that status.
Forward Eric Hassli is still dealing with some back issues after talking to him on Tuesday, the Frenchman feels that if asked he can be used for more minutes on Saturday.
Hyndman will also be getting both Raul Fernandez and Blas Perez back from international duty on Saturday. Perez was expected to re-join the team today when Fernandez said to be meeting the team in Denver tomorrow afternoon.
