FC Dallas vs Seattle Sounders FC: Preview and Prediction

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas hopes to end their current losing streak as they travel west.

Week 10 is a busy one for FC Dallas as they head west to the Emerald City to face league leaders Seattle Sounders tonight at CenturyLink Field.

The two teams met just a few weeks ago with the Sounders coming out on top 3-2.

FC Dallas Notes:

Michel's involvement. The Brazilian has three goals and two assists this year. He has been involved in eight of Dallas' 18 goals this season, including five of the last seven. Also he has three goals in three games against Seattle.

Big Tex. Since debuting against Sporting KC on March 15, where he earned a free kick that was converted by Matt Hedges for a stoppage‐time goal, David Texeira has moved up the MLS CASTROL index ratings to his current spot, No. 6 overall behind only Joao Plata, Robbie Keane, Clint Dempsey, Jermain Defoe and Bradley Wright‐Phillips.

Quick stats from NY game - Here are the Opta stats from last week's game:
Matt Hedges: Six interceptions, six clearances, 20/23 passing efficiency.
Walker Zimmerman: Five clearances.
Danny Garcia: 18/22 passing efficiency.
Fabian Castillo: Four Successful dribbles.
Hendry Thomas: 10 headers won, three interceptions.
Victor Ulloa: 45/49 passing efficiency, eight headers won.

Seattle puts their four game winning streak on the line in this midweek matchup. Sounders FC now own the best record in Major League Soccer following their fourth consecutive win, a 2-1 triumph over Philadelphia last weekend. FC Dallas have lost two in a row and fallen out of the West lead, coming off a 1-0 home defeat by the New York Red Bulls on Sunday.

FC Dallas is 1-4-1 in all-time regular season matches in Seattle. Their last win came in May of 2011, a 1-0 win. Seattle holds the all-time series lead against FCD at 7-2-4 with a 23-14 goal advantage.

The Sounders are lead by Clint Dempsey and his eight goals on the season. Obafemi Martins and Lamar Neagle also behind Dempsey in the goal scored department with four and three respectively.

Going on the road after a tough loss with another game set for the weekend is never easy. But FCD has the depth to do handle these quick turnarounds here. Getting Zach Loyd and Michel back will be good for this game but FCD has to get more out of Castillo and Blas Perez early in this one to have a shot. I think Seattle is just too hot at the moment to cool off even though the familiarity factor will help out. This one will be a grind but the Sounders should come away with the points at home.

FC Dallas 1, Seattle 2
