FC Dallas on Loan: Arizona United Earn First Win

AZUnited

Only Arizona was in action this week.

Only one game to discuss in the FC Dallas on Loan watch this week. Orlando City SC was off this weekend as they are getting set to take on the FC Dallas Reserves tomorrow in Frisco. That means Jonathan Top and Arizona United SC were the lone team in action this week.

Top and the very-heavy former FCD roster at Arizona earned their first win of the 2014 USL PRO season over the weekend. Top scored a goal in the 2-1 win over expansion side Sacramento Republic FC.

Sacramento took the lead in the 27th minute through Rodrigo Lopez. Arizona responded 10 minutes later when a good pass down the right side released captain Matt Kassel, who hit a curling cross through the penalty area. The delivery found Brandon Swartzendruber at the far post, and the former Dayton Dutch Lion controlled and fired home for United's first goal in club history.

But it was the FCD loanee that got the biggest goal of them all for Arizona late in the second half. Top finished a headed down ball in the 85th minute to seal the club's first win.

Below is the full match replay for those wanting to see Top and other former FCD players:
